Nier automata endings12/19/2023 ![]() Starting the game from scratch and getting all 26 endings took me around 35-40 hours. Getting endings A, B, C, D, and E took me about 25 hours in total the first time, but I didn't do much side content. To that end, there exists an ending in NieR: Automata that is, without a doubt, the game's 'true' ending, and one of the only satisfying conclusions to the tale of androids 2B, 9S, and others. You'll never need to start the whole game from scratch to get a new ending if you don't want to. Then, getting Ending E just requires playing the fight a third time, plus completing a certain additional challenge unique to that ending. Depending on a choice you make at the end of Route C, you get either Ending C or Ending D, but getting either unlocks the ability to jump just about anywhere in the game's story from the game's menu, so all you need to do to get the other ending is play a single boss fight again rather than the entire game. Ending Y Head Y Battle - Fight Emil in the dessert and let it self destruct. Ending E - Beat the game after continuing from Route B and accept Pod 042s request during credits. Reload story mission '17-09' and Select either 9S or A2. Route B is the story of Route A from a different character's perspective, so you go to a lot of similar places and see a lot of similar things happen, but the gameplay style is very distinct from the first time around, and you learn new things about the plot, especially towards the end. Ending Z - Over Zealous: Kill Pascal with A2 in their first encounter. Each of these routes is notably different from each other, so you're not really "replaying" the game. You will start Route A automatically when you start the game for the first time, Route B when you open a save file where you've just seen the credits from Route A, and Route C when you open a save file where you've just seen the credits from Route B. ![]() The game is split into routes A, B, and C. ![]()
